Golf Classic
Bantry Bay Golf Club

West Cork Tourism Events

Over 50 teams participated in the West Cork Tourism Golf classic on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd April last at Bantry Bay Golf Club. Most of the winning scores came during Friday's fine weather, while heavy overnight rain and stiff winds made Saturday's course a more difficult challenge. Fine shooting of 53 points (2 scores to count at the final 2) by a team led by Neil Crowley of Drimoleague was enough to see off the rest of the field.

West Cork Tourism has been promoting the golf facilities of the West Cork region for many years and is delighted develop this annual event in association with the clubs in the region.

At the presentation on Saturday evening Vivian O'Callaghan, chairman of West Cork Tourism, thanked the organising committee and the prize sponsors: Thornhill Bros., Skibbereen; The Spinning Wheel, Glengarriff; McCarthy Sports, Bantry; Spar, Cork Road, Skibbereen, as well as the staff and management of Bantry Bay Golf Club for their assistance during the 2-day event.
